My name is Dina Carpenito and I am the Founder and Cookie Artist at Space Cadet Baking Company.

In 2021, I left behind an almost two-decade, 9-to-5 career in Construction Accounting to bake full-time, and I haven’t looked back since. There was something missing in my life, and I didn’t realize just how strong the call to create and be my own boss was until it happened. The first few months of business were a whirlwind of recipe experimentation and planning, with a crash course in social media marketing. I was spinning and percolating with ideas and had never been happier!

So, how did the early Space Cadet Baking Company become what it is today? Well, I sort of fell into cookie decorating just as I fell into accounting. I dabbled in it when I first started the bakery but never expected to be a full-time cookie decorator! But, overwhelmingly, my clients were requesting custom sugar cookies, so I ran with it. Each order helped me fine-tune my design style and sharpen my decorating skills. I’m constantly experimenting with new techniques and learning from my “cookie colleagues” to keep improving. I believe it’s this drive to always get a little bit better with each cookie set that makes Space Cadet Baking Company so successful.

To this day, I’m still in disbelief about being able to bring my passion for beautiful and delicious cookies to my clients every single week. So, thank you to my past, current, and future clients and collaborators!
